Why we built SSLBoard
TLS testing tools have traditionally worked one host at a time. You type a hostname, wait, read the result, and move on to the next one. That works for a single website. It does not work for a real organization, where a domain hides dozens or hundreds of hosts and the risky ones are usually the ones nobody remembers.
We started SSLBoard to move from checking one host to auditing the whole infrastructure automatically: discover every host a domain exposes, test every endpoint, and deliver the results as one coherent report.
Engineered for scale
Auditing an entire domain in the time it takes to get a coffee meant rethinking how TLS scanning works, and it took extreme performance work to get there. SSLBoard runs on its own Certificate Transparency index for discovery and its own scanning engine for the TLS handshakes, both built in-house and optimized end to end.
The result: SSLBoard scans 500 hosts faster than SSL Labs tests a single one. That speed is what makes complete, domain-wide audits practical, and it means a retest after remediation takes minutes instead of an afternoon.
Where we run
SSLBoard’s scanning infrastructure runs in Europe on Hetzner. The web application and report delivery run on Cloudflare’s edge network, close to our users worldwide. Scans are agentless: we connect to public endpoints from the outside, exactly as any client would, so nothing is installed on your systems and nothing on your servers changes.
Growing by word of mouth
Between our launch in April 2026 and October 2026, SSLBoard completed more than 11,000 domain audits, covering over 2 million TLS endpoints. Our traffic is entirely organic. We don’t buy ads. People find SSLBoard through search and through recommendations from colleagues who used it for their own audits. For us that is the clearest sign SSLBoard solves a real problem.

SSLBoard is a product of Gone Coding Ltd., a software company registered in Hong Kong and founded by Chris Hartwig, who has been building TLS scanning tools since 2016. Our business model is simple: free scans, paid reports, no subscriptions and no sales cycle.
