In 2016 Chris launched SSLPing.com, a free tool that security engineers relied on for years to check certificate health as HTTPS became mainstream. SSLBoard scans your domain’s public endpoints and produces a structured, actionable report covering your entire TLS posture:

  • Certificates – Expiration tracking, issuer distribution, and CAA policy verification across every host.
  • Protocol Analysis – Identifies deprecated TLS versions (SSLv3, TLS 1.0/1.1) still in use, with CVE references.
  • Cipher Suite Audit – Flags weak and insecure ciphers (3DES, RC4, NULL, EXPORT, CBC) with severity ratings.
  • Forward Secrecy & Key Strength – Checks PFS support and key sizes across all endpoints, including RSA-only hosts.
